Andrew Wood's Acting Studio in Los Angeles is a great acting class for actors to work on their craft in a creative and nurturing environment! I teach with Andrew in his Advanced class where we work on incorporating physical presence and in depth character study into scene work. Check out his class options if you're looking to grow as an actor.

American Society for the Alexander Technique has helpful information about the technique and how to find certified teachers in the United States.

www.alexandertechnique.com is a great all around site for articles and information about the Alexander Technique.

The Art of Running is taught by Alexander teacher and athletics coach Malcolm Balk.  He teaches a great workshop in applying Alexander techniques for more coordinated and stress free running.

NPR's recent story and podcast about the healing benefits of the Alexander Technique.  Click the link to read or listen to the story. I highly recommend it!

Back Pain Study by the British Medical Journal.  Interesting statistics and an informational video about Alexander Technique and chronic back pain.

Books: a few personal recommendations. (The link on the book name will take you to the Amazon page where you can learn more about the book.)

Body Learning by Michael J. Gelb.  This is a great resource for beginners about the Alexander Technique. It's often on the required reading list for a lot of University taught Alexander classes.

The Alexander Technique by Jeremy Chance.  Another great introduction to the technique for beginners.  Very easy to follow. This book also talks about Alexander concepts in a way that is different than other introductory books.  I find the information to be very refreshing.

Freedom to Change by Frank Pierce Jones.  I think this book is a great one for the more advanced student of the technique.  I found it to be a very interesting read with a lot of "aha" moments.

The Alexander Technique: Freedom in thought and action by Tasha Miller and David Langstroth.  A book for the intermediate to advance student.

Indirect Procedures by Pedro De Alcantara.  An introductory book that goes through all the principles of the technique while looking at them through the lenses of a musician.  Even though there are many music references in this book, it can still be an informative and helpful read for the non-musician.

Master the Art of Running by Malcolm Balk.  If you're a runner, then you must read this book.  The book merges Alexander Technique and running technique so that you can become a faster and more efficient runner.
