What are students saying about this class?
"I used to endure neck and back pain sitting in front of my computer for 9 plus hours a day, thinking oh well - that's life. Not anymore. It's all about knowing how the body was designed to move and sit, and then readjusting oneself in alignment with those natural movements. My work in front of the computer is now pain free and I have more focus and energy! Thank you so much!!"
-Devon
"Before Leah's class, I knew I held unnecessary tension in my body but I didn't really know what to do about it. After just one class I was already feeling more relaxed and less stressed out. They create a comfortable and fun space to learn and explore and have given me more "aha" moments than I can count. I definitely walk into auditions now with more confidence and have seen a rise in the amount of work I'm booking. Thanks ladies! And thank you Alexander!"
- Rachel
"I took Leah's class because I wanted to get away from teachers that work on 'auto-pilot'. I wanted someone who was going to take the time to see what MY challenges were and not simply attend a cookie-cutter class. Boy, was I happy with my choice! Leah worked with each of us personally and listened to what we wanted to get out of the class. And the results have been remarkable. At my first audition after the course, the CD commented on how my posture was perfect for the character I was reading for. And even more important, I just feel better when I am using the technique. I'm much more relaxed and happy! I would recommend Leah's class to all actors!" - Heather
What are doctors, actors, and directors saying about the Alexander Technique?
“97% of people with back pain could benefit by learning the Alexander Technique - it is only a very small minority of back pain sufferers that require medical intervention such as surgery.”
-Jack Stern, MD, PhD, Spinal Neurosurgeon, White Plains, NY
“The many benefits that the Alexander technique afforded us as actors included minimized tension, centeredness, vocal relaxation and responsiveness, mind/body connection, and about an inch and a half of additional height. By balancing and neutralizing tensions, I’ve learned to relieve as well as to avoid the aches and pain caused by the thousands of natural shocks that flesh is heir to.”- Kevin Kline
“Of all the disciplines that form the actor training program, none is more vital, enriching and transformative than the Alexander Technique.” - Harold Stone, Associate Director, Theater Department, The Juilliard School
“I find the Alexander Technique very helpful in my work. Things happen without you trying. They get to be light and relaxed. You must get an Alexander Teacher to show it to you.” -John Cleese
We offer a supportive learning environment where every student gets Alexander work during every class. There's an amazing 5 to 1 student/teacher ratio.
